2011 Trends in interior design colours
Determined by inspiration from Italy, “chemical colours” have come back into the fore in interiors:
• rustic red, baby yellow, sulphur blue

A beautiful scheme of home decorating colour can make your whole house seem thoughtful, well planned and organized. Begin by identifying a range of hues you respond to. Start the decorating process with colour chips from several different paint manufacturers in the colours you have chosen. Spread them out in the room, propped up along the walls.
Walk away and come back to eliminate them one by one, each time following your instinct. Be sure to consider the tones of the fixed features in the room, hard wood floors, cabinets, carpeting and architectural elements like a fireplace made of stone or brick.
When you have narrowed down your colours to only a few, paint a small area of the samples on the walls. Remember, paint colours change, sometimes dramatically at different times of the day so take your time before making a commitment.
Honest furniture

Barcelona furniture was very popular in the 60s. Now it is back in business with its honest and comfortable lines. Heavy bottomed furniture with, piping picked up in another colour for emphasis. Working with different materials, showing the frame through the body of the chair – both fun and sophisticated.
Comfortable living

A cream stove creates the perfect centre piece for a warm country living room. Decorative plates make a charming display, drawing attention to the fire.
Modern living room
Your living room decor is one of the most important rooms in your house, and most people such as family and guests spend much time in the living room. A living room is not only a relaxing and comfortable space that welcomes guests and visitors; it also serves as a focal point and acts as a showcase for the entire house. In simple terms, the living room interior is the focal point of a house and a place that brings comfort and joy to all its inhabitants. When we have a guest room it is usually the first room that your guests see, and I think we should be careful how this place is, this will reflect our own style. There are many living room decorating styles to choose from, and the most popular are traditional, transitional and modern contemporary. What is your favourite?
